Community Programmer – City of Beaumont

Key areas of responsibility include:
Develop, implement, administer and evaluate a diverse range of programs for children, youth, adults, seniors and families
Engage with residents and community groups to build positive relationships; ensuring a strong understanding of the needs of the community
Lead role in the publication and review of the seasonal program Activity Guides, as well as marketing of programs
Responsible for programming, scheduling and registration using the IntelliLeisure software program
Manage contracts associated with programming, which includes instructors and contracted services
Administration of various community grants and subsidies (Ex. Jumpstart)
Ensure the delivery of high quality registered and drop-in programs and services
Stay up-to-date of new trends and innovations within community programming
Supervise Summer Programs employees and volunteers, including recruitment and training
Assist with developing and maintaining program budgets, records and report management

As the ideal candidate you have the following qualifications:
Diploma in Recreation/Leisure/Community Development, or related discipline
Minimum of 3 years of recreation programming experience, along with previous supervisory experience (a combination of education and work-related experience may be considered)
Excellent communication and customer services skills
Current Standard First Aid/CPR/AED Certificate or equivalent (including CPR C)
Computer proficiency, ability to work with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Registration software (experience with IntelliLeisure software program is an asset)
Strong organizational skills and understanding of risk management
Working knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety
Ability to work occasional evening and weekends

This full-time, permanent position offers a minimum starting salary of $58,040-$75,729 (starting salary is negotiable within this range based on suitable experience and qualifications), a 35-hour work week, enrollment in LAPP, and a competitive benefits package.
