The Opportunity
Green Economy New Brunswick (GENB) is our first provincial Hub and first Hub in Atlantic Canada. As we grow the local New Brunswick team, we’re looking for a stellar Communications & Events Coordinator to play a key role in developing and executing GENB’s online presence, member recognition efforts, and capacity-building events. As an ideal candidate, you are a skilled communications professional who thrives in a dynamic range of work from event planning and managing social media, to crafting compelling stories about business sustainability efforts across New Brunswick.
Ideal Start Date: Immediate
Term: Full-time contract until March 2023, with potential to become a permanent position
Annual Compensation: $48,000 + $1,500 health and wellness allowance
Location: New Brunswick, remote work
Language: French and English proficiency required

What You Would Do
As the Communications & Events Coordinator, you would:
1) Lead our marketing and communications efforts (40%)
Develop GENB’s marketing and communications strategy with the support of the Hub Manager and Green Economy Canada’s Communications Manager to grow the Hub’s profile and reach, and build a movement towards the low-carbon economy in New Brunswick.
Establish and maintain GENB’s newsletter, website, and social media presence (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook), ensuring content is engaging and current.
Craft compelling messaging and online communication campaigns to amplify our annual member recruitment efforts and equip partners to share our content.
Equip the Hub Manager and other staff to act as strong spokespeople for our work by crafting presentations, preparing speaking notes, and drafting op-eds and media quotes.
Develop and maintain GENB’s brand through creating templates, adapting standard messaging, and ensuring that all resources and external facing collateral are consistently branded.
Measure the success of GENB’s marketing and communications efforts and proactively identify opportunities to improve it, bringing recommendations forward with clear rationale for execution.
2) Plan and execute engaging events (20%)
Support the planning, promotion, and execution of Green Economy New Brunswick’s Launch Event.
Identify event topics with the support of the Hub Manager, and lead the promotion and logistics of three capacity-building events per year to foster connections and build sustainability knowledge among our members.
Lead the promotion and logistics of information sessions to support annual member recruitment.
3) Craft inspiring member recognition opportunities (40%)
Lead the planning and execution of member recognition activities, including the production of GENB’s annual report, annual awards, and Evening of Recognition.
Identify and develop compelling case studies to tell member stories and profile their sustainability successes.
What We Hope You Will Bring
Relevant work experience (3+ years) or accredited formal education in communications, marketing, sustainability, or a related field.
Bilingual proficiency (oral and written) required.
Experience with communications and marketing software including WordPress, InDesign, and MailChimp. Graphic design expertise is considered a strong asset.
Demonstrated event planning and execution skills with an ability to manage a project successfully from conceptualization through to implementation on time and on budget.
Conscientious and detail oriented with an ability to effectively plan and manage multiple priorities, be proactive, and build trust that work is completed with quality and care.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, with an ability to listen well and work collaboratively with team members to support a caring, productive, and positive work dynamic. You are comfortable working both independently and remotely, and collaborating regularly with a larger team.
Creative thinker who brings new ideas to the table to keep our communications fresh, exciting, and captivating, and shares stories in compelling ways.
