S D Furniture Inc. in Abbotsford, BC is currently hiring a qualified and experienced Carpenter to join our growing team. We are looking for an individual who is dependable, team player, with excellent work ethic and good communication skills.

Job Duties:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
Operate woodworking machines such as power saws, jointers and shapers and use tools to measure, cut , shape and assemble materials made of wood, wood substitutes and other materials.
Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit using glue and clamps and reinforce joints using nails, screws or other fasteners.
Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products.
Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures and related products.
Supervise other workers.
Estimate amount, type and cost of materials required.

Salary: $26.00 per hour
Anticipated start date: As soon as possible

Skills and Qualifications required:
Completion of secondary school
1-2 years of work experience in the relevant field
Be able to work as a team player and individually
Must have strong attention to detail, positive work attitude and professionalism in customer service
