We are seeking volunteers to work as assistant trip leaders and help us set up and operate remote wildlife viewing camps in the Ungava region of Nunavik. These camps are being set up for photographers to experience the great caribou migration, wild wolves during the den cycle, musk-oxen herds, and northern lights.
The first term is for 6 weeks starting in early July through to mid-August, and the second term is 4 weeks from late August through mid-September. We request your services on the field in exchange for room, board, travel costs, and mostly for the privilege to participate in an incredible wildlife experience / wilderness adventure at one of the most remote areas in Canada. You can learn more about our unique wildlife photo programmes at http://www.thelon.com.
Duties include general labour, helping load and unload small aircraft, assisting on some construction improvement projects, cleaning cabins, setting up tents, maintaining camp yard, assisting with meal preparation / kitchen cleanup, and assisting trip leaders with delivering daily interpretive wildlife, natural history and archaeological programs on the field. Successful assistants will be considered for paid positions in future seasons.
Return airfare from Montreal to Kuujjuaq, Nunavik is included for those who sign up for the full 10 weeks – those who work partial terms will have to make thier own way to Kuujjuaq.
If you are interested and prepared to work at least one complete term with us, please email us with your resume at:
