About Us:
We are one of Ontario’s largest adult recreational slo-pitch softball programs. A not for profit organization focused on providing high quality programs in and around the greater Ottawa area, we offer teams the ability to play games from the highest competitive levels to the just for fun recreational games. Operating 5 unique leagues and a summer tournament program, we offer adults the opportunity to stay active while having fun all spring, summer and fall long. In 2015, we had 312 registered teams playing just over 2,400 games starting at the beginning of May and running until the middle of October.
We are currently accepting applications for the upcoming 2016 season for the position of Assistant Coordinator.
Responsibilities
The Assistant Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the planning, organizing, marketing & execution of SLOPITCH.com programs (Leagues and tournaments) held on various ball diamonds throughout the City of Ottawa. The Assistant Coordinator is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service and satisfaction, and required to work during evenings (Monday thru Friday) and tournament weekends.
Duties
Build and manage relationships with program players, coaches and umpires;
Ensure that all aspects of programs are professionally executed;
Ensure registration targets for all programs are exceeded;
Prepare program materials for distribution to team representatives or individuals;
Execute program marketing plans and assist with the development of these plans;
Pre & post timely program communication (written & oral) with all clients including phone, email and in-person
Assist with the social media feeds and content management for program websites to ensure all information is kept accurate and up to date;
Collect roster information;
Assist with payment collection for all programs;
Deal with players, coaches, and umpires on a regular basis and as specific issues arise;
Deliver outstanding customer service to customer inquiries in a timely fashion and as per SLOPITCH.com policies; and
Other duties as requested by the SLOPITCH.com Executive.
Qualifications
Excellent written and oral communication skills;
Excellent customer service experience;
Proficient with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook);
Proficient with Social Media platforms;
Be a team player and have a very strong work ethic;
Work under pressure and deal with difficult people on a regular basis;
Meet tight deadlines;
Hold a valid driver’s license and have own means of transportation;
Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required;
Bilingualism (French & English) is an asset; and
Previous experience in event or program planning & execution is an asset.

Compensation
The successful candidate will be remunerated on a monthly basis from May through to August.
