The Community Services Department is seeking a dynamic, energetic person with a great work attitude to join a team of like-minded people.
Under the direction of the Aquatic Supervisor the employee performs tasks that are established according to the guidelines of the Canadian Red Cross, the Lifesaving Society and those set by the Aquatics Supervisor and the Town policy and procedures manual.
Duties shall include: providing safeguards and supervision of the activities of all patrons and staff of the Aquatic Centre in the absence of the Aquatic Supervisor. Organize and run special events as well as instruct and evaluate aquatic programs. Provides direction and mentors Aquatic Centre staff while developing a positive working environment at the facility.
Desired Minimum Qualifications:
Three to five years Aquatic experience
Water Safety Instructor, Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, Senior Resuscitation, National Lifeguard Service, Aquatic Emergency Care/Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
NLS instructor/examiner and LSI would be an asset
RFP Pool Operators I 5. Must be at least 18 years of age

Position Summary:
The purpose of this position is to assist the Aquatic Supervisor in the delivery of aquatic programs and the operations of the aquatic facility.

General Duties of This Position:
Act as Aquatic Supervisor in Absence of Aquatic Supervisor
Perform Guarding Duties
Organize and run special events/programs
Instruct and evaluate aquatic programs
Organize and assign Canadian Red Cross swimming lessons
Prepare reports, lesson plans and statistics as required
Fulfill a public relations roll at all times
Operation of facility cash register including evening cash out
Supervision of Junior and Senior Lifeguards
Perform janitorial duties, maintenance and water testing tasks
Perform related duties as required
Facility checks
Staff shift adjustments
Scheduling staff as required
Attend meetings called by the Aquatic Supervisor
Health and Safety: Must adhere to all safety standards under the Occupational Health and Safety Legislation, Town Policies and Procedures and WHMIS Guidelines.
