Metro Community Housing Association (MCHA) is a non-profit organization that provides a range of community based services for individuals who have experienced mental health difficulties. We are looking for a high energy and dedicated individual for the role of AP/AR Administrator.
Located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the AP/AR Administrator will report to the Director of Accounting. This full time permanent position is responsible for:
Monthly processing of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
Distribution of grocery cards and client funding
Laisse with the NS Department of Community Services in collection of AR
Vendor reconciliations
Assisting the Director of Accounting with the AR portion of bank reconciliations
Special projects within the Finance department as required
Annual Audit of AP/AR
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
A strong proficiency using ACCPAC, Excel and Outlook
The ability to process a large quantity of work with a high degree of accuracy
Strong time management skills with the ability to correctly prioritize work and meet deadlines
Well-developed problem solving skills
Collaboration with the Accounting and management teams as well as front line staff
Focus on improvement and development of processes
Professionalism and respect for confidentiality
The ability to embrace change and accept constructive feedback
The successful candidate will have the following experience and/or education:
Previous AP/AR experience in a high volume environment is essential
Commerce degree or Accounting certificate/ diploma is required; a combination of education and experience will also be considered
