Administrative Program Assistant – Memorial University Botanical Garden Inc – St John’s

 Duties:
Reporting to the Director, the successful applicant will be responsible for a broad range of key functions in the coordination and management of special events, marketing, graphic design, fundraising, donations and administrative support. Duties include liaising with Advisory Board and Garden Director; overseeing and participating in the creation of one-of-a-kind fundraising events; creating and distributing promotional materials; drafting minutes and correspondence; managing special projects and donations; supporting public outreach activities; and performing other related duties as required.

Qualifications:
Experience (1-3 years) in coordinating events; graduation from high school supplemented by university courses in business administration or a comprehensive course of study in graphic arts or related subjects from a technical college or institution; or any combination of experience and training. The ability to work on both Mac and PC platforms is considered an asset. The successful applicant will have excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated ability and experience in graphic design, marketing, and project management. An understanding of design, Microsoft Office Suite and graphics software (Adobe in Design, Photoshop and Illustrator) is required.
