Status: One-year contract, 37.5 hours/week (with possibility of renewal dependent on funding)

Position Summary
Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Administrative and Communications Assistant will be responsible for providing event, communications, and office administrative support to the Ontario EcoSchools team. The Administrative and Communications Assistant will work independently and as part of a team of six full-time staff to support the development and delivery of the Ontario EcoSchools program.
Duties and Responsibilities
Administrative Support (50%)
Support event planning and coordination, including registration, accommodations, travel, venues, catering, materials, media, etc.
Provide administrative support for meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, taking minutes, bookings rooms, etc.
Prepare and process purchase orders, cheque requests, invoices, expenses claims
Monitoring and reporting on budgets
Prepare, receive, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and other correspondence
Respond to general phone and email inquiries and direct inquiries to appropriate staff
Communications (50%)
Post content to website and social media (Twitter and Facebook)
Assist with content creation for newsletters, blogs, social media, news releases, etc.
Assist with ongoing monitoring of media coverage, and web and social media analytics
Support the creation and distribution of program materials and resources, including PowerPoint presentations, factsheets, toolkits, videos, etc.
Support the maintenance of files, contacts, photos, and other records
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
2+ years of related experience and/or successful completion of post-secondary training or education, preferably in Communications or Office Administration
Fluency in French is strongly preferred
Interest in environmental issues and/or environmental education
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Resourcefulness, initiative, and flexibility to function collaboratively as part of a small team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Experience with or knowledge of WordPress, social media tools, SEO, MailChimp, Google Analytics, and/or other online tools a definite asset
Experience with Adobe Creative applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) an asset
