Reporting to the Director of Development Services, you will provide administrative support and duties to the Development Services department, specifically the Manager of Long Range Planning & Special Projects. This includes a wide variety of high-level administrative, clerical and customer service functions related to long-range community planning. You will respond to public and staff inquiries, assist to process land development applications; perform research and preliminary analyses; assist with planning projects, such as the Official Community Plan review; arrange and organize meetings and public engagement events including preparing agendas and minutes; and, create and maintain a variety of records, forms, tables, spreadsheets and manuals.
Complementing a minimum of two years’ experience working in a customer service focused, multi-tasking office environment, the ideal candidate must be self-motivated and task orientated with advanced proficiency in MS Office, MAIS or similar financial software, Laserfiche or similar electronic document management system, and be able to type a minimum of 60 words per minute. The ideal candidate will have post-secondary training in administrative or legal conveyancing skills along with a good working knowledge of planning and community development functions, with the ability to read and interpret a variety of related plans, maps, bylaws and policies.
The 2015 wage rate for this position is $29.47 per hour plus a comprehensive benefit package upon completion of probation. This position works 70 hours bi-weekly with a 9-day fortnight (an extra day off every two weeks).
