NBCC is currently seeking a dynamic and competent individual for the position of Administrative Assistant. Reporting to the Interim Director of Institutional Research/Director of Finance, you are responsible for providing support to, and managing the day-to-day schedule and document needs of the Director, supporting the work of the department, and communicating effectively with internal and external clients.

Responsibilities include managing the flow of communications including gathering and disseminating information; preparing for, and advising director of upcoming meetings, etc.; attending meetings, taking minutes and completing follow-ups as required; drafting and preparing documents and presentations; and performing general administrative duties such as call screening, photo-copying, and faxing.  The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing and coordinating the scheduling of travel arrangements and monitoring monthly budgets, purchase orders, and expense reports.

The successful candidate must also have strong client service orientation, be detail-focused, demonstrate initiative and be able to work independently while also working cooperatively with others as required, monitor and check information, and develop and use detailed systems to organize and keep track of information.

Required qualifications for this opportunity include a high school diploma supplemented by a one-year post-secondary program in a related field, plus a minimum of three (3) years of recent and related work experience, OR a high school diploma supplemented by a two-year diploma in Office Administration or a related field, plus two (2) years of recent and related experience. Extensive knowledge of the MS Office Suite of products is also required (intermediate level in Excel and Word is required). Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Preference may be given to candidates who have experience working in a post-secondary environment and knowledge of, and experience using Oracle.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive bi-weekly salary for this position ranging from $1,363 to $1,644.  This is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees collective agreement (Administrative and Program Support Services Group) for the College.
