We are looking for a vibrant and dynamic Administrative Assistant in the ACRD portfolio.  The Administrative Assistant would be someone who shares our core values of impact, accountability, leadership, integrity and collaboration.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, Aquatic and Crop Resource Development, the Administrative Assistant enhances the effectiveness of the General Manager by providing professional, multi-skilled and effective administrative support. The Administrative Assistant is the first line of contact with internal and external clients, responding to requests of a complex and confidential nature and aligning responses to the strategic goals of the organization.

Education

Completion of post-secondary Administrative Assistant program or a related field.

Experience

Significant and recent experience in providing administrative support at a senior management level.

Significant experience providing client service in an administrative multi-disciplinary environment.

Significant and recent experience working with Microsoft (MS) Office Suite products, specifically MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook.

Equivalency based on a combination of education and experience may be considered.

Language Requirements
Bilingual imperative CBC/CBC

Note: In the event that no bilingual imperative CBC / CBC candidates are identified, NRC may consider candidates who are able to achieve bilingual imperative BBB / BBB.

NOTE: In the event that no qualified bilingual candidates are identified, NRC may consider candidates who demonstrate the capacity to achieve these levels within two years.

Ability to research, analyze and synthesize information from various sources;

Ability to use MS Office suite products (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook);

Ability to draft correspondence in English and French;

Ability to proof-read and edit documents and correspondence in English and French;

Ability to demonstrate discretion, tact and sound judgment in daily activities;

Ability to review sensitive items and information to determine the most appropriate course of action.

Salary Range
From $ 45,738 to $ 58,163 per annum plus the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 a year.

NRC employees enjoy a wide-range of benefits including:  comprehensive health and dental plans, thorough pension and insurance plans, equitable vacation and other leave entitlements and solid travel benefits.

As an added bonus, NRC employees receive an additional week off at the end of December. NRC shuts down between the 24th of December and the 1st of January. Employees are paid for this time, but make up the hours during the year.
