Administration and Communications Clerk – City of Langford

If so, the City of Langford invites you to apply for the temporary, full-time Administration and Communications Clerk (Floater) position.

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, this position is the primary back-up for the receptionist providing coverage during breaks, flex days, vacation and sick days, and performing all other related duties of the receptionist as required. The Administration and Communications Clerk is also the back-up for other departmental assistants and provides communications and research related support to all departments.

Applicants must have:
A post-secondary diploma or certificate in office or business administration, plus three years of administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in the MS Office Suite and ability to type 50 wpm.
Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and complete multiple tasks within given deadlines.
Ability to address shifting work priorities with a high degree of flexibility and adaptability.
Ability to perform a variety of duties with accuracy and attention to detail.
A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence.

Preferred knowledge, skills and abilities include:
Ability to support communications initiatives using a variety of media and platforms.
Excellent writing, editing and proof-reading skills.
Ability to accurately research a variety of subject matters.

Salary range for this temporary, full time position is $25.99 to $28.40 per hour plus 13% in lieu of benefits. Hours of work are 8:30 – 4:30, Monday to Friday (35 hours a week), with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break.
