Program Assistant – Renewable Cities/Carbon Talks – Central Vancouver

We are looking for an outstanding Program Assistant to work on two programs:

Renewable Cities aims to accelerate the adoption of 100% renewable energy within cities globally and recognizes that an integrated approach to energy efficiency and urban design is required. It is a five-year program that has been co-designed with leaders in local government, the private sector, key innovators and thought leaders, and utilities. The program will launch through a Global Learning Forum in Vancouver from 13-15 May.

Carbon Talks, is an initiative of the Simon Fraser University Centre for Dialogue in association with the Beedie Graduate School of Business, the School for Public Policy and the School for International Studies, focused on increasing Canada’s global competitiveness by moving to a low carbon economy.

Term: Position starts as soon as candidate can be hired (February 2015) to May 30, 2015 (with possible extension for another 4 – 12 month period, depending on performance and available funding).

Location: SFU Vancouver Campus (7th Floor – 515 West Hastings Street)

Time: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Salary: $21.84/hour (includes 4% per annum holiday pay)

Position Description

The Program Assistant plays a key role on the Carbon Talks and Renewable Cities team. S/he provides administrative and program support to the Executive Director and the four program officers of the Renewable Cities and Carbon Talks team at the SFU Centre for Dialogue.
