The Town of Inuvik is pleased to offer the following opportunity:
Tourism & Event Assistant – Term – November 30th 2015 to November 25th, 2016
The successful candidate will be required to:
Be a strongly self- motivated and highly organized individual
Have working knowledge of the tourism industry and an understanding of the northern cultural and political environment
Be skilled at operating Microsoft Office suite of software
Show proven knowledge and experience coordinating events
Have a valid Class 5 Drivers License
Hold a relevant post-secondary diploma and/or Degree in Office Admin, Business Admin or Tourism Management
Equivalencies recognizing related experience will be considered
We are looking for a team player who will assist to implement the recently completed Economic Development Strategy and Program for the Town of Inuvik which includes marketing and promotion of Inuvik as a destination for visitation, investment, and community living.
Salary starts at $27.25 per hour (approx. $53,138 per annum) with a Northern Allowance of $7.35 per hour (approx. $14,332 per annum).
