We are seeking a dynamic individual who wants to help build our online presence.
Responsibilities include:
Help manage, grow and monitor Green Living’s social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Linkedin).
Research best practices to increase social media engagement for Green Living.
Research trends and relevant content as it relates to sustainability, health & wellness and the environment.
Provide social media support as needed for Green Living’s clients.
Help execute and manage online contesting for Green Living and Green Living’s clients.
Research websites that aggregate contests and that could further promote Green Living’s contesting reach.
Help source prizing for Green Living’s social media platforms and newsletter.
Submit editorial ideas for Green Living’s newsletter, leveraging exhibitors as contributors where possible.
Assist in writing and curating Green Living’s newsletter.
Required Skills and Experience:
Computer and social media literacy
Good Organizational Skills
University degree or college diploma in a related field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Passionate about the environment and knowledgeable about environmental issues and related organizations
Knowledge of design software is a an definite asset
Experience with SEO, Mail Chimp, Google Analytics, Hootsuite and/or other online tools a definite asset.
This position is supported by the YMCA Digital Skills Youth Internship Program. In order to qualify, the candidate must be:
Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the time of placement
A post-secondary graduate and can provide proof (2 yrs minimum) of college oruniversity
Unemployed or underemployed at the time of placement
Can commit to a full time internship
Canadian citizen, permanent resident or refugee under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations
Not in receipt of Employment Insurance (EI) benefits
In need of assistance in order to overcome employment barriers
Compensation & Contract length:
Compensation and hours are dictated by the YMCA program and are 40 hours per week for 16 weeks and/or a total of 640 hours at $16/hr.
