Responsibilities of the Saturday Farmers’ Market Attendant will include:
Saturday Farmers’ Market operations
Support site set-up and preparation of all areas of the facility in advance of market opening, including support for vendor set-up, wayfinding materials, bathroom cleaning and maintenance before, during and after Saturday Market, including emptying of all waste containers
Support site take down and closing duties to reset space after the market, including disposing of waste in designated areas, taking down wayfinding materials and support for vendor take down
Support tasks related to market execution, including responding to urgent vendor concerns, maintaining a clean environment by responding to spills and washroom concerns and performing other duties as needed
Assist with maintaining a safe environment for staff, vendors and customers throughout the facility at all times during the market
Maintain clear and effective communication with Farmers’ Market Lead and Assistant
Advise Farmers’ Market Lead of any building maintenance required
Other related duties as assigned by Farmers’ Market Lead

Experience and abilities the Farmers Market Assistant will bring to this role:
Experience in the food industry and/or farmers’ markets an asset
Customer-focused, responsive, service mindset to ensure vendors and community members feel supported and welcomed
Experience supporting the execution of community events
Some physical labour will be required (i.e. moving tables, tents, cleaning duties)

Compensation and Details:
Work location is primarily onsite at 10C Shared Space (42 Carden St., Guelph) and Farmers Market building (2 Gordon St., Guelph)
This is a part-time, temporary role based on up to 10 hours/week with an initial work term ending on October 31, 2022 and may be subject to renewal.
Core hours of work will be Saturdays from 5:00AM to 2:00PM.
Compensation is to match Living Wage, current rate is $18.10 per hour
