The Purchasing Manager Reports to the Manager and will be part of the senior management team here at Trout River Industries.

Have an intimate working knowledge of purchased components
Have a working knowledge of manufacturing process and customer needs
Actively source different suppliers
Maintain effective and positive relationships with suppliers
Negotiate contracts
Build a Trout River supplier integration training program
(involving; shipping, packaging, training, product alternatives, research and development, costing, waste elimination, terms)
Develop and maintain an active turnover schedule
Control inventory at appropriate levels

Will need to:

Travel to meet with key suppliers and understand their systems
Develop positive relationships with suppliers
Spend time with the manufacturing team to understand their systems
Develop an annual work plan

Requirements:

Minimum 3-5 years experience in procurement
Experience in database management
Ability to produce forecasts and analysis
Understand manage BOM system
Ability to manage a small team of people

The shipper receiver, purchasing assistant and forklift operator report to the Purchasing Manager
