Program Market Analyst – University of New Brunswick – Fredericton

UNB, one of Atlantic Canada’s Top Employers of 2015, Fredericton, invites applications for the position of Program Market Analyst with the Faculty of Engineering: Dr. J. Herbert Smith Centre. This position will be under the immediate supervision of the Chair of the Dr. J. Herbert Smith Centre. The Program Market Analyst will assist the Centre in facilitating collaborations with private and public organizations as it relates to technology commercialization, working closely with student entrepreneurs to launch their new technology ventures.

Representative Responsibilities:

Identify the results of student technology activities with market potential and take the necessary steps to support them.
Advise students in the preparation of business and government funded proposals.
Prepare financial documentation for prototype development resulting from design and innovation.
Assess design and innovations created by students and determine the appropriate approach for customer development and product/market fit.
Prepare, adopt and monitor performance indicators.
Perform business intelligence and market research.
Other related functions could be added as needs become apparent.

Requirements:

Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, design, or business. As well, advanced degree(s) including: Ph.D, MD, JD, MBA, MFA, M Eng, or MS), are considered an asset.
Ability to manage multiple priorities at any given time and track progress of each file.
Be dynamic, autonomous, adaptable and capable of mobilizing individuals and/or groups.
Have proven writing and verbal communication skills and excellent command of English. Bilingualism is an asset.
Ability to establish successful customer approaches and maintain effective and trusted relationships.
Preference for real-world experience in entrepreneurial start-ups, innovation, and new product development for market fit. Familiar with entrepreneurial support services and funding mechanisms.
Prepared to show demonstrated commitments to coaching and mentoring and working with people across a wide range of disciplines are critical attributes.
Excellent communication and teaching skills, with demonstrated excellence in working with students.
