Key Qualifications
Ability to architect and build products or prototypes from scratch
Strong analytical/problem solving skills and general mechanical engineering analysis
Ability to work independently and with Team members with good communication skills
Handheld/portable device experience
Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA), analysis techniques, functional dimensioning
Experience with component modules (Amoled panels, batteries, camera modules, etc) and interconnects (FPC design and ACF bonding)
Integration of electrical subsystems (microphone, speaker, receiver etc)
(Optional) Knowledge of 3D Printers operation
(Optional) Integration of wireless antenna (GSM, GPS, WiFi) into mechanical enclosures
Being able work fast and efficiently while meeting deadlines
(Optional) Experience or ability to work with manufacturers
Job Summary
We’re in the Process of releasing a new line of products with revolutionary Design using hardware’s and components already available. In order to have an idea of this position challenges, compare the Moto 360 to traditional Smartwatches. It has a different design while still using Components that were already available. Same goes to our new line of product.
The Project Development Leader by whom you will be assisted, and given clear detailed instructions (hand drawn sketches etc) already knows most of the main components that will be used.
Your job will basically be to get our Projects from concept phase to a commercial ready product. In other words, figuring how the devices components are going to be put together, the best way to fit everything in the design size and specifications, testing 3D printed and working prototypes, creating specific blueprints for mass production.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Designing modelling and testing prototypes to meet objectives and Deadlines
Producing and documenting design specifications, including parts lists and costs estimates
Providing production criteria and adjusting rough layouts angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances to fit components
Providing field failure analysis and solutions
Turning research concepts and ideas into technical plans for prototypes using computer-aided design (CAD), computer-assisted engineering (CAE) software, and other 3D Product Design softwares (Autodesk etc)
Identifying the suitability and availability of materials
Researching materials processes or market requirements
Identifying and selecting materials needed for production
Ensure that product design meets quality standards and customer needs
