Raise the Root is an organic market located in Leslieville, Toronto. We’re focused on local, organic produce and grocery. The store’s concept is to have the variety of a grocery store with a farmer’s market feel. We have a steady flow of farmers, foragers and local entrepreneurs dropping off their delicious and nutritious goods. We’re passionate about food, the environment and having fun! The organization consists of hardworking, motivated and fun loving people who are focused on providing a friendly and community oriented market-like experience to our customers (a.k.a. neighbours). In the role of the Produce Merchandiser and Sales Clerk, you would be responsible for:
Delivering friendly, prompt customer service
Informing customers about specials and store events
Building and filling displays
Providing knowledge of products and produce to customers
Cleaning and culling produce
Receiving and putting away orders
Ensuring produce meets standards of quality and care
Guaranteeing all products and produce have an accurate price tag
Amongst other tasks
Qualifications:
Customer service experience
Able to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends
Produce experience is a strongly desired asset
Ability to lift ~40lbs, bend, and stand on your feet for several hours
Food Handlers Certificate is a bonus!
