About DSA:
Dynamic Systems Analysis Ltd. (DSA) is an ocean engineering software company with offices in Halifax, NS and Victoria, BC. DSA’s mission is to provide leading dynamic analysis software and services to ocean industries. DSA is presently undergoing expansion of its software and service businesses, and is looking for a person to direct and coordinate this product expansion.

The ideal candidate will possess 5 years of experience in marketing, sales, and business development, with an emphasis on software marketing within the marine, offshore and/or subsea industries.

Marketing Manager Responsibilities:

Accomplishes business development activities by researching and developing marketing opportunities and plans;
Oversees and participates where necessary in the implementation of sales and marketing plans; including attendance at key conferences and trade shows
Coordinates DSA technical staff in marketing and sales efforts;
Achieves marketing and sales objectives by contributing market data and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing investigations; identifying trends; determining marketing and sales system improvements; implementing change.
Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures;
Projects expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products; analyzing trends and results; establishing pricing strategies; recommending selling prices; monitoring costs, competition, supply, and demand.
Accomplishes marketing and sales objectives by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating advertising, merchandising, and trade promotion programs; developing sales action plans.
Identifies marketing opportunities by identifying product requirements, defining market, competitor’s share, and competitor’s strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business; establishing targeted market share.
Improves product marketability and profitability by researching and capitalizing on market opportunities
Sustains rapport with client base; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities.
Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Qualifications:

Minimum bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, marketing or related discipline
3-5 years’ experience
