Clearwater Seafoods requires a Marketing Manager. The position is a fulltime position and will be located in Bedford, Nova Scotia. The anticipated start date for the position is tentatively set for July, 2015.
Purpose of Position
Clearwater is seeking a marketing manager to successfully leverage his/her comprehensive knowledge of the marketing process, extending CSLP’s leadership position within the global seafood industry.
Reporting Structure
This individual will report to the Global Vice President – Marketing.
Overall Role Purpose
Reporting to the Global Vice President – Marketing and working in close collaboration with Marketing, Product Management, Supply Chain and Sales, this position is responsible for:
Leading the development and implementation of consumer and customer research plans for Clearwater Seafoods. Ensure the acquisition and retention of all primary, secondary and syndicated research to support the business.
Managing the key account team process, including planning, reporting and optimization.
Track and report on the total Marketing budget.
Major Responsibilities:
Lead Clearwater Seafoods’ portfolio market research planning
Develops total business long-range and annual research plan, working in collaboration with Marketing, Product Management and Sales.
Integrate, prioritize and track research initiatives across the organization
Recommend synergies and efficiencies in planning
Leverage expertise consumerbehavior across the portfolio
Development and implement customized research methodologies on a project basis
Utilize methods such as focus groups, surveys, interviews, and test markets to understand and define customer requirements within targeted product categories and geographies
conduct qualitative and quantitative research to support innovation and core product development effects
Manage total research budget
Pursue and apply research best practices
Ensure research tools are strategically appropriate
Maintain expertise in marketing and marketing research and stay abreast of new developments through contacts with institutions, professional organizations, publications and vendors
Lead product category trend analyses to generate actionable insights
Examine and analyze statistical data using modeling techniques to forecast future trends
Collect and analyze date on customer preferences and buying habits to identify trends

Qualifications
8+ years of marketing, research, key account and budget experience (international preferred) in fast-moving consumer goods industry. Experience in premium and perishable foods is preferred.
Classic-trained consumer marketing and market research experience.
Must have strong collaboration skills with a demonstrated capability of leading and participating in high performing work teams.
Strong analytical skills.
Broad knowledge of consumer and customer research methodologies .
Competent in evaluating and interpreting syndicated information (IRI, Nielsen), primary and secondary research results.
Competent in using Spectra, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Ability to develop and work within budgets.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
University degree in Business/ Commerce required. MBA preferred.
Ability and drive to establish the research and key account functions as key business drivers within the organization.
