We’re a team of people who believe in the transformative power of technology to change lives for the better, who care deeply about what they eat and where it comes from, who sweat every last detail, and who view this project as a multigenerational commitment.
Our roots are in rooftops, where we built our first commercial greenhouse in 2011. However, it’s because of our relationships with amazing local and sustainable food producers that we’ve been able to greatly expand our Marketplace selection and feed more than 6,000 families in and around Montreal. We offer more than 1,000 different products from over 140 growers and food artisans, and we’re just getting started.
We’re looking for a process-oriented, numbers crunching guru to lead our growing merchandising team as Director of Merchandising Operations. The DMO will harness a passion for sustainable food systems, spreadsheets and organization to develop and implement streamlined processes and oversee their rigorous compliance to ensure smooth functioning of the merchandising department. Additionally, the DMO will rely on data-driven management and decision-making to achieve department objectives and budgetary targets. The right individual will bring structure to our vision and have a huge opportunity to shape the future of our company’s engine.

achieve department objectives relating to budgets, product roadmap, product availability, pricing and customer satisfaction
lead and directly manage a growing merchandising team

lead negotiations on long-term supplier partnerships
work closely with the CEO to set forecasts, determine budgets and execute special projects
work closely with Merchandising Strategist to plan and implement product roadmap
coordinate with Marketing on featuring suppliers and products
perform HR functions in coordination with management
Essential Qualities:
highly structured, organized, detailed-oriented individual who thrives on creating and abiding by processes
advanced analytical skills for data analysis
calm and composed under pressure
able to prioritize competing responsibilities
at least 2 years experience in managing a team
experience in sourcing and forecasting
online retail experience is critical
experience in the food industry is a definite plus
believe in the power of technology to innovate food distribution
