Communications Support Specialist – Nova Scotia Teachers Union – Halifax City

The Nova Scotia Teachers Union invites applications for the support staff level position of Communications Support Specialist.  The successful candidate must have excellent knowledge of strategic and tactical planning for social media engagement, proven experience in copy writing and editing for both print and web and strong skills in research, analytics and content distribution methods.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to social media and online reputation management via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc., copy writing and editing for both print and web, maintenance of membership registry and the generation of meaningful and actionable analytics.

Qualifications:
Degree/Diploma in Public Relations or Communications
Minimum of 3 years social media engagement experience with a proven track record in both strategy and execution
Excellent research and analytic skills
Strong copy writing, editing and proofreading skills
Passionate about writing and social media
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
Ability to work under minimal supervision
General tech savviness and willingness to learn new technologies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of HTML and Content Management Systems an asset
