Clearwater Seafoods requires an Assistant Marketing Manager, Innovation. The position is a fulltime contract position and will be located in Bedford, Nova Scotia. The anticipated start date for the position is tentatively set for April, 2015
Purpose of Position
Clearwater is seeking a marketing professional (preferably with food & beverage and/or FMCG experience) to successfully leverage his/her comprehensive knowledge of the marketing process, extending Clearwater’s leadership position within the Global Seafood industry.
Reporting Structure
This individual will report to the Marketing Manager, Innovation.
Major Responsibilities:
Responsible to communicate key action plans and deliverables from others for NPD projects
Responsible to follow-up on actions related to NPD projects and communicate broadly with team
Responsible to schedule meetings regarding new product development needs
Responsible to take minutes at bi-weekly NPD cross functional meeting and ensure timely issuance within 48 hours of meeting
Responsible for producing and communicating weekly retail inventory velocity reports by using information from multiple sources
Responsible to work with species inventory coordinators to review aged inventory reports bi-weekly and prepare a New Product Development (NPD) aged inventory report
Responsible to coordinate global New Product Development samples with operations, logistics, and sales for both new products and those already in-market
Responsible to gather market intelligence on relevant products through various sources to assist in pricing analysis/decisions
Responsible to coordinate R&D tax credits in Oct-Dec, annually
Assist QA and packaging with new product label approval process
Assist Marketing Manager with new product plant trial planning
Assist Marketing Manager in execution of project plans and timelines
Assist in the execution of StageGate innovation process where required
Assist in business analysis where required
Support development and execution of marketing strategies and plans where necessary
Providing support for the marketing department with respect to:
Culinary
Customer meeting preparation
Packaging
Research
Required Skills:
Project management experience
Experience gathering competitive information and reporting implications
Excellent organizational & time management skills
Team focus & collaborative approach including interaction with various operations in the business.

Strong communication and presentation skills
Strong analytical experience
Leadership skills including skill leading projects within multi-disciplinary or global business
Qualifications:
Degree or post secondary diploma in marketing or related field
Experience in related marketing field
Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, general web-based applications)
Ability to work as a team member or independently
Experience in seafood industry or food industry considered a strong asset
Experience working cross-functional to ensure marketing effectiveness
Fluency in another language is an asset
