Description
The Gaia Project is a charitable organization providing hands-on learning experiences in energy and sustainability to students across the province of New Brunswick. Our mission is to empower youths to take informed decisions about energy and its impact on the environment. We are seeking a self-motivated and organized individual to take the role of Administrative & Communications Officer. Ideally, the person will be located in the Fredericton or Moncton area.
The position requires a versatile individual who is passionate about his/her work and able to flow-with-the-work. We are a relatively small organization and need team players who can assist where they are needed at times.
This position will be full-time and will commence as soon as possible. Wage will be commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for all bookkeeping, data organization, communications, payroll and payroll taxes. The administrator is also responsible for preparing the end-of-year reports and other documents. Therefore, this position requires excellent organization and communication skills.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor Degree in Accounting
Experience: 1 to 2 years experience in a similar role.

Additional information
Strong preference for bilingual candidates.
Need to ensure accurate and efficient management of all organization’s financial documents.
Attention to detail will be critical.
Ability to manage documents of a time sensitive nature.
Comfortable working in both collaborative and autonomous situations.
High level of proficiency in MS Office is required (particularly Excel); experience with Quickbooks software is desirable.
Most importantly: the applicant will need to bring a passion for discovery to the job. We expect our staff to be big creative thinkers, and be prepared to find solutions to problems with limited resources.
