King Township is seeking applications from qualified individuals for the position of Taxation & Assessment Analyst. With a population of approximately 24,000, King Township is a mostly rural community located 20 minutes north of Toronto in the Regional Municipality of York.
Reporting to the Manager of Revenue, this position is responsible for:
Active management of the Township’s assessment base.
Performing annual reviews of assessment rolls to identify anomalies in assessments with respect to classifications, values, dates and timeliness.
Monitors and analyzes various sources in review of assessment roll; including new Registered Plans, new construction, etc.
Prepares and files/submits the Township’s assessment appeals by the statutory deadline.
Overseeing the collection of all tax arrears.
The successful applicant will:
Be a graduate of a post-secondary degree/diploma in Business, Real Property Administration or a related discipline.
Have a minimum of three (3) years of combined experience in the municipal property assessment and taxation environment.
Have successfully completed the Municipal Tax Administration Program.
Yearly wage range: $50,784.12 – $63,470.68 plus a comprehensive benefit package.
This is a unionized position and as such the successful candidate will be required to maintain active status as a member of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (Local 905.23).
