Position Description:
The CGS Canadian Division consists of over 100 employees across Canada with offices located in four Provinces. This role will be responsible for a variety of financial and accounting responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be experienced in reporting, banking, payroll, financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting. You are self-motivated, enjoy working as a team member but can also function independently. You thrive in a busy, dynamic environment. The position is full-time, but a part time four day work week will also be considered.
Position Responsibilities:
Various activities associated with month end and year end close: This could include, but may not be limited to, payroll and fixed asset accounting entries, preparation of accruals, project expense and tracking, balance sheet analysis, and preparation of various reports; financial statement analysis;
Participation budgeting and forecasting processes;
Various payroll related activities: Preparation of bi-weekly payroll changes for submission to ADP, calculation of deductions, benefits, vacations, etc.; input and tracking of employee sick days, vacation, etc., new hire setup and issuance of Records of Employment, preparation of various government forms/reports such as T2200, T4’s, T4a’s, reconciled monthly RPP (Registered Pension Plan), WCB and Ontario EHT;
Accounting administration – data entry, reviewing of invoices;
Other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Commerce
CPA, CA, CGA, CMA with 5+ years of post-designation experience preferred
Financial statement preparation;
Experience in working in multiple currencies;
Electronic banking transactions;
Payroll experience and familiarity with payroll regulations;
Advanced-level skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
Experience with a Payroll System such as ADP and an Accounting Package such as Microsoft Dynamics AX;
Attention to detail and deadlines.
