Job Overview:
Reporting to the National Director of Credit Services, the Senior Credit Administrator is responsible for credit and collection activities in accordance with the established policies and practices. Ensures achieved results in minimizing bad debts, maximizing sales, sound receivables, and their prompt conversion to cash. You will oversee business developments and manage overall performance of the department in accordance with established strategic directions and policies.
Duties:
Establishing corporate credit granting policies and procedures that contribute to overall company profitability
Preparation of reports and documentation pertaining to credit business. Responding to store enquiries and providing direction on credit matters.
Reviewing credit applications over account limit and authorizes as appropriate. Ensures all reference and credit checks are thoroughly conducted. Secures guarantees as required
Approving or rejecting credit applications, establishing credit limits and determining repayment plans or scheduling in accordance with authorized policies
Advising customers on the commercial and personal financial services corresponding to their needs
Ensuring credit policies and procedures are followed according to established guidelines and applicable legislation
Handling all credits beyond the authority of the Credit Representatives which require individual attention such as marginal accounts, problem accounts special credit arrangements and any deviations from company’s normal credit policy
Initiating contacts with customers and branch staff to review accounts and maintain close, harmonious relationships while ensuring bad debts are controlled within limits the company policy
Performing other duties as required
Qualifications:
University Degree or Completion of Diploma program focused on Business Administration, Commerce or Economics or related field
5+ years Credit management experience in the retail sales industry, preferably building supplies and contractor sales
Thorough understanding of the Construction Lien Act, bankruptcy laws and familiarity with court procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks
Position requires close attention to detail with sustained periods of concentration to ensure accuracy and timeliness of work produced
