The Board of Education of School District 83 (North Okanagan – Shuswap) invites applications for the position of Secretary Treasurer for the district.   District #83 encompasses the beautiful Shuswap and North Okanagan area and includes the primary communities of Salmon Arm, Armstrong, Enderby & Sicamous.

The Board of Education seeks a proven leader who, reporting to the Superintendent of Schools and participating as a member of the senior executive team, can provide expertise and advice in the areas of finance, managing plant operations and facilities, and providing corporate services to the elected board. This role will be instrumental in supporting the district’s mission to “engage all learners in quality learning experiences.”

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to public education; have a post-graduate university degree or professional designation in finance Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA); have proven strategic leadership with 5 years of senior management experience in the areas of financial and facilities management – ideally with a Public School District. The successful candidate will have experience managing employees in a fast paced unionized environment; and will demonstrate the ability to work as a collaborative member of the senior management team in support of the educational and financial goals of the district.
