As our company continues to change and grow we are seeking an experienced Payroll & Human Resources Administrator to provide support to our payroll and human resources functions with a primary focus on health and safety administration.
Based in Truro, NS and reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will provide support by ensuring timely and efficient administration and processing of both Canadian and US payroll. You will be the go-to person for all health and safety administration matters while being responsible to provide confidential administrative and general support to the Human Resources Manager.
Essential duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Payroll Administration Support
Accurate and timely Canadian and US full-cycle payroll processing;
Processing of payroll related remittances;
Prepare and distribute Records of Employment;
Balance and produce information slips (T4/T4A/W2, etc.)
Ensure consistent and timely communication is received by staff regarding changes relating to payroll scheduling/process;
Ensure all Inland sites are provided with information and posters to meet provincial and state requirements.
Health and Safety Administration
Liaise with Inland’s Health and Safety team to review and update our health and safety policies and procedures including administration and implementation of our health and safety system;
Timely notification of information to stakeholders in order to ensure compliance with the health and safety system and relevant provincial and state legislation;
Maintain all Material Safety Data Sheets and ensure all required documentation is available at each Inland site;
Administration, claims management, and coordination of return-to-work plans with Workers Compensation;
Coordinate attendance management program including planning and coordination of return-to-work plans for injury or illness;
Coordinate health and safety committee(s);
Ensuring clearance letters or proof of insurance is provided by contractors where applicable.
Administrative Support
Maintain the current employee filing system;
Back-up support in the areas of benefits administration, recruitment;
Ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned.
As the ideal candidate you have three years of experience in Canadian and US payroll administration, post-secondary education/training in Human Resources Management including health and safety; and, intermediate MS Office skills. You are an effective communicator with above average writing skills, strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail. You thrive while working independently in a fast-paced, multi-deadline, team-oriented environment while exhibiting sound judgment and confidentiality.
