Nova Networks Inc. is growing and we are actively seeking a Payroll/HR Coordinator to join our team in Ottawa.

A little bit about this career opportunity: This is an exciting opportunity to join our Accounting/Finance department. As a Payroll/HR Coordinator this is a great opportunity to be involved in the full payroll cycle as well as handle some human resources responsibilities.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Coordination and administration of payroll functions for all of Nova’s offices
Interacting extensively with the Controller and Assistant Controller to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance
Responding to employee payroll inquiries
Verifying final pay calculations
Assisting with composition of Records of Employment
Ensuring all employee information is kept confidential and safeguarded
Contributing new ideas to improve efficiencies in the payroll process
Communicating with Managers to verify time and attendance
Reviewing vacation and sick day accruals
A little bit about what we’re looking for in you:
Prior experience in a payroll function in a mid-sized organization
Strong understanding of the full payroll cycle
Ideally, hands-on experience with EasyPay
Proven ability to maintain discretion and sensitive information
In-depth knowledge of employment standards legislation
Strong understanding of time off accruals
High level of proficiency with MS Excel
High attention-to-detail
Strong customer/client service orientation
High level of initiative
Adaptability to rapidly changing demands, strong organization skills and ability to prioritize
Outstanding communication skills – written and verbal
