The City of Coquitlam is seeking an experienced Payroll Clerk to join their Payroll Team.
As part of the Payroll team and reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the preparation, calculation and completion of payroll for approximately 1,400 municipal employees in a unionized environment.
Duties include: accuracy and verification of time submitted for validity and adherence to the Collective Agreement; data entry; generate ROE’s and manual cheques; maintain payroll records; reconciliations; establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts and other requirements related to the work.
Along with Canadian Payroll Association – Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) Certification or be working towards it, supplemented by at least two years previous related work experience in a unionized work environment (preferably within a municipal or regional government setting). Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel. Experience with PeopleSoft and Maximo would be considered an asset.
