Some changes in our corporate structure have led to the creation of this position. We are seeking a permanent, part-time Payroll and Benefits Assistant to join our team.
Reporting to the Payroll and Benefits Coordinator, this position is responsible for a variety of duties, including preparation of biweekly payroll, year-end activities and ensuring compliance with established regulations, rules and applicable clauses of the collective agreement. The incumbent will also provide assistance with benefit administration and coordination. This position will require sound knowledge of the methods, practices and principals involved in the processing of payroll as well as strong administrative skills.
The successful candidate will have a grade 12 education including or supplemented by courses in payroll administration plus related experience, preferably within the municipal or other public sector environment. We are looking for candidates with excellent communication and customer service skills, who will complement our small, tightly knit team. This position will appeal to applicants who can commit to a permanent part time, flexible schedule within an easy commute. This is a CUPE position with a salary range of $24.48 – $28.77 per hour, plus 10% in lieu of benefits.
