Position Summary
OCR Canada is looking for talented, hard-working individuals to build/expand a client base and sell automatic identification products, services, and software to corporate customers. The products include wireless networks, data collection terminals, barcode scanners, label printers, Radio Frequency (RF) devices, and application software.
Job Responsibilities
Expand OCR’s business base by acquiring new customers; develop and maintain positive professional relationships among customers at all levels
Organize initial contacts, cold calls, and mailings
Respond to Requests For Quotations
Manage new programs until they are in full operation
Frame the benefits of a solution in a way that accurately addresses the key points and priorities of stakeholders
Organize demo hardware for new customers, when necessary
Manage a pipeline of future opportunities while maintaining established customers through consistent follow-up
Preferred Characteristics
Strong entrepreneurial spirit
Strong drive, motivation, and desire to be successful
Proficient with Microsoft Office products
Fluent in English, both oral and written; strong communication skills
Knowledge of the Information Technology industry, in particular barcoding, data collection, data bases, industrial radio frequency systems, and networks
Ability to work independently
Access to a car is essential; ability and willingness to travel
Education
Post-secondary education, university degree, or equivalent desired
An electronics or mechanical background preferred.
