The Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic professional to fill the role of Manager of the Island Savings Centre. Reporting to the General Manager, Community Services Department, the Manager of the Island Savings Centre implements, controls and supervises the total operation of the Island Savings Centre Division, works with the Island Savings Commission in the initiation of policies and compilation of general directives, prepares drafts of the annual operating and capital budgets and is responsible for the supervision and leadership of the Island Savings Centre staff.

To succeed in this position you will possess a university degree in recreation administration and have a minimum of six years of directly related experience in either a regional district or municipal setting with a major emphasis on facility management. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License is required.

You are an accomplished professional that will provide direct leadership to a team that is responsible for developing and delivering recreational services to meet the existing and emerging needs of the community. You are a strategic thinker, developing and delivering short and long range plans, policies and procedures for the Island Savings Centre.     As the ideal candidate you have:

Knowledge of methods, procedures, principles and practices involved in the administration of a recreation centre
Knowledge of the principles and objectives of recreation programs and developing trends
A proven track record of exercising solid judgement involving administrative matters
The ability to organize and manage multiple ongoing tasks, determine priorities and organize workloads to meet specific deadlines
