Manager of Financial Services – District of Chetwynd – Chetwynd, BC

The District of Chetwynd has a career opportunity for a motivated team player to join the Finance Department as Manager of Financial Services.

Reporting to the Director of Financial Administration, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management and supervision of three employees in the Finance Department. The successful applicant will be responsible for the day to day operations of the department and will perform various accounting duties, including preparation of year-end analysis and the annual financial statements; assisting in the preparation of the Financial Plan; control of annual budgets; and maintenance of the computer network and municipal accounting software.

Candidates will have a college diploma in accounting or have completed year three of a recognized accounting program, or equivalent experience in a Local Government setting. Preferred candidates will have proven supervisory skills, effective communication skills and experience in a municipal environment, including knowledge of property taxation. Knowledge of computer systems networks, Microsoft Office Professional, and VADIM iCity municipal software are a definite asset.

In addition to the opportunity to live, work and play in a northern wonderland, a competitive salary in the range of $78,000 to $82,000 and an extensive benefit package is offered. Further incentives include relocation expenses and five paid flex days in addition to an annual vacation allowance.
