The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) is seeking a full-time manager of financial planning to join our financial services team. The term of this position is 12 months.
The manager of financial planning, reporting to the corporate financial officer and working closely with the chief administrative officer, coordinates the preparation of the annual budget and short and long-range financial plans. Assesses financial requirements and risks for new/revised policies and programs, develops business cases, coordinates the preparation of estimates and various financial analysis and reports, and makes board and public presentations regarding the regional district’s financial plans and performance. Provides coordination and support for the financial aspects of the annual risk liability assessment, manages the grants program, the annual tax requisition, and the insurance program. Provides assistance and information to various stakeholders including local governments, public and community groups, provides advice and training to the executive management team and managers regarding financial planning, budgeting and business case analysis, and performs a signing officer role for the CVRD, the North Island 9-1-1 Corporation and the Comox Strathcona Regional Hospital District.
