Manager of Finance – Contract
(Temporary)
The Village of Anmore, is a vibrant and growing community located in Metro Vancouver north of Port Moody and adjacent to Buntzen  Lake Recreational Area operated by BC Hydro. The population of Anmore is approximately 2400 residents. The Village is inviting qualified individuals to submit a proposal for the contract position of Manager of Finance.

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Manager of Finance will be required to:

prepare and present the operating and capital budgets for the 5-year Financial Plan;
prepare and present the annual financial statements;
liaise with the Village’s auditor to provide all required documentation in order for the audit to be completed;
perform all the financial affairs of the Village and fulfill the statutory requirements as outlined in the Local Government Act;
control the collection of revenues and disbursement of funds;
assist the Chief Administrative Officer in tracking and forecasting perspective and current projects;
attend Council and Committee meetings as required.

The Village is seeking a candidate with a demonstrated knowledge of public sector financial accounting and reporting principles and requirements under PSAB; thorough knowledge of municipal legislation as it relates to finance, including the Community Charter and the Local Government Act; the ability to communicate while fostering credibility and trusting relationships with staff, elected officials and the
public.

The preferred candidate holds a professional accounting designation (CMA, CGA, CA) with a minimum of 3 to 5 years related experience, preferably in a local or regional district government.
