Our client, a large global CPG company is looking to hire an Interim SVP Finance to lead an equity carve out of part of their Canadian organization. This role reports to the Global CFO in the US and is responsible for leading and executing their strategy domestically. The Canadian organization has a strong FP&A and commercial finance team but all the controllership function and the financial reporting is US based. The Interim SVP Finance will not focus on working with investors or raising finance but will concentrate on the technical and project side of carving out a new organisation and building a finance team locally to support it.
Responsibilities:
Work with the auditors, advisors and global CFO to finalize the plan for the equity carve out and own its execution;
Build out the controllership function in Canada;
Build out the financial reporting function in Canada;
Work with the domestic finance team to allocate key tasks in the project and report progress to the US;
Build the organizational design for the finance team and hire the right talent internally and externally.
Required Knowledge, Abilities and Experience:
Have led an organisation through a divestiture; ideally an equity carve out;
Steered an organisation through an IPO;
Strong technical accounting background;
Ideally worked in CPG, distribution or logistics
Designated accountant – ideally a CA or a CPA.
