Wicker Emporium Limited a retailer in home furniture and decor with locations throughout Atlantic Canada and Ontario is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to work at its head office located in Halifax.

The Controller is part of the senior management team and is responsible for all financial aspects of the company.

Responsibilities Include:

Day to day financial transactions
Managing daily cash flow and planning Cash flow forecasts
Foreign Currency transactions and Hedging planning
Managing and implementing Internal systems and control activities
Financial Statements preparation and stakeholder reporting
Inventory Controls and monitor and control Purchasing Budget of product
Business plan development and budgeting
Payroll and Group benefits administration
Coordinate and prepare audit packages and liaise with external accountants
Supervise accounting staff

Qualifications and key competencies:

Accounting Designation
Minimum 5 years experience preferred
Financial analysis experience with a focus on operational and cash flow management
Strategic planning and implementation experience
Strong business acumen and management skills
Well organized detailed oriented and motivated team player
Excellent communication skills
Experience in a retail environment is an asset
