Kapasi & Associates is currently looking for an Accountant to join the team! The Accountant is responsible for bookkeeping and the preparation of accounting files. Autonomously, he/she prepares financial statements and tax returns.
This person’s responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Monthly and annual bookkeeping services using manual or computerized bookkeeping systems;
Preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts, preparing the trial balance, managing the general ledger and preparing the financial statements;
Researching complex accounting issues and providing guidance to clients;
Preparing accounting files (review or compilation engagements);
Analyzing financial statements and reports and provide financial, business and tax advice;
Preparing annual and interim financial statements;
Analyzing personal and corporate tax assessments;
Preparing personal income tax returns;
Preparing corporate and trust income tax returns;
Preparing government regulatory reports as needed (Payroll);
Communicating with government
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent in Accounting;
Accounting Designation Required (CA, CGA or CMA);
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of accounting experience including responsibility of a full set of accounting records and the production of financial statements;
Good communication skills (both oral and written excellent interpersonal skills and comfortable to deal directly with clients and government);
Excellent knowledge using accounting software, such as Simply Accounting, Quickbooks,,etc.
Excellent knowledge of Excel and Word;
Knowledge of Caseware/Caseview is considered an asset;
Enjoys working in a team and autonomously;
Job is full time with overtime expectation (paid).
