Lantzville, located between Nanaimo and Parksville on Vancouver Island, is home to approximately 3,600 residents. The District is currently seeking a Director of Financial Services. This is a permanent part-time exempt position working at three-quarters of full-time (26.25 hours per week) hours. This position may, depending on future work load demands, become a full-time (35 hours per week) position. Additional hours may be required when preparing and presenting to Council the annual financial plan and the preparation of annual property tax notices and tax collection.

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the successful incumbent will be responsible for the statutory duties of financial officer including, but not limited to, preparation of the financial plan, annual financial statements, annual municipal report, and attending Council meetings as required. You will be leading a small department and will be demonstrating leadership in asset management, budgeting, financial recording and reporting, and financial analysis.

The candidate should have a professional accounting designation, supplemented by a minimum of five years of senior municipal or related accounting/financial and management experience. Past experience with VADIM will be an asset.
