Southeast Child & Family Services is an agency of the Southern First Nation Network of Care and provides services to Berens River First Nation, Bloodvein First Nation, Buffalo Point First Nation, Little Black River First Nation, Little Grand Rapids First Nation, Pauingassi First Nation, and Poplar River.
As a member of the Senior Executive team, the Director of Finance (DOF) contributes to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing all financial tasks for the organization. The DOF works closely with the Finance Analyst on program, project and funding agreement budgets, and ensures compliance with requirements of funding sources and organizational policies. The DOF leads a team of 15 accounting and finance staff to perform day-to-day accounting practices and maintains appropriate fiscal records within clearly defined policies and procedures.
As the ideal candidate, you have finance experience in not-for-profits, social services, or child welfare and have an understanding of the rules of Child Welfare funding. You have experience with cash flow analysis, asset management, producing quarterly financial statements and year end audits. Furthermore, you have experience developing annual budgets in consultation with a broader authority as well as the management team, and experience developing, testing and maintaining financial policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with governing bodies.
The DOF is highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy; is a problem-solver with strong decision making skills; is able to keep confidential information; and is able to use authority to take direction and to work within the policies, procedures and guidelines, and the Agency’s mission, philosophy and core values.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Must possess a CMA, CGA or CA
Finance experience in not-for-profits, social services or child welfare is an asset
Strong computer skills with knowledge of MS Office
Strong working knowledge of accounting software – ACCPAC
Must possess a valid Manitoba driver’s license and be willing to travel
Clear Criminal Record Check and Driver’s Abstract
Ability to flex daily work hours
