Director of Finance/City Treasurer
Reporting to the City Manager, this position is responsible for the statutory duties of Treasurer under the Municipal Act, ensuring that sound strategies and practices relating to the provision of financial services are followed throughout the City.  The successful applicant will oversee the daily operation, activities and performance of the Finance Department, including accounting, tax, budgeting, payroll, collections and purchasing and will be a key member of the senior management team of the City.

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Business Administration or Accounting and a CPA designation with a minimum of ten years of related work experience in a senior municipal capacity.  A Master’s degree or a certificate in Municipal Management would be considered an asset.  The successful applicant will have demonstrated competence in strategic planning, performance management, problem solving, decision making and leadership skills.  The proven ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of departmental staff, management and Council is vital.
