Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Deputy Director of Finance is responsible for completing the annual financial statements, various municipal financial reporting forms (LGDE, Gas Tax & SOFI); and assisting with preparation of the five year financial plan. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, ensuring that a number of financial and reporting functions are carried, out, as well as presenting at evening Committee and Council meetings as required. The successful candidate will possess a recognized accounting designation, and preferably with a minimum of five years’ experience in Public Sector accounting.
The hourly rate offered for this temporary auxiliary full-time UNION POSITION is $56.54 (increasing to $57.68 on January 1, 2016), plus 13% (14% effective January 1, 2016) of gross earnings in lieu of benefits pursuant to the current Collective Agreement. The start date is negotiable. The length of the term is under consideration, but is expected to end August 31, 2016.
