Provincial Aerospace is looking for a Cost Accountant to join our team in St. John’s, NL. The Cost Accountant must have a strong Cost systems background, excellent analytical skills and will work closely with the financial department in preparing and maintaining budgets. The Cost Accountant will also be responsible for project updates, revenue projections, and will prepare and analyze operating and financial reports on a monthly basis.

Responsibilities:

Administer and control project accounting on a continual basis
Complete weekly Job Analysis – Estimated vs Actuals
Prepare, analyze and report actual labour, material, and overhead cost variances against standard and budget
Make estimates of new and proposed product costs
Produce accurate and timely reports
Prepare Job Profit and  Loss Statements
Reconcile Project Accounting to General Ledger
Execute utilization
Ensure proper job setup in accounting system
Record cost information for use in controlling expenditures
Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting cost and profitability of services
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

University degree or college diploma in accounting or related field
Must have 2-3 years of progressive accounting experience
Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual project reports
Cost accounting experience will be considered an asset
Conversant and knowledgeable of accounting practices
Exceptional computer skills, experience with MS Office and other computer programs
