Position: Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, this position is responsible for ensuring that all beverage distributors and tire retailers operating within Newfoundland and Labrador comply with registration, operation and remittance requirements set forth by provincial regulations. These distributors and retailers range in size from local, independent retailers to large multi-national corporations.

As a Compliance Auditor you will be responsible for executing audits in accordance with the audit plan, preparing working papers for internal review, drafting audit reports, as well as providing recommendations for operational and management improvements to distributors and retailers. You will also ensure remitters are informed with regard to their remittance obligations and advise stakeholders on the status of current and new products with respect to inclusion in the Used Beverage Container and Used Tire Recycling Programs.

This position offers a great opportunity to travel throughout the province and other areas of Canada.

This is a full time temporary position based in St. John’s. The salary range is $50,687 to $56,384 (MMSB-33).  MMSB also offers a comprehensive benefits package and is an “equal opportunity” employer.

Qualifications: You should have an undergraduate degree in Commerce or Business Administration and be registered in the CPA program. You have one to two years’ experience in an accounting environment with experience in financial and/or compliance auditing. You have keen analytical skills and a solid understanding of financial accounting practices in a corporate or public sector organization. You can communicate effectively and work independently.
