The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako includes the communities of Vanderhoof, Fort St. James, Fraser Lake, Burns Lake, Granisle, Houston, Telkwa and Smithers as well as the seven surrounding Electoral Areas A through G. Presently, the total population of the RDBN is 39,208. The RDBN offices are located in the Village of Burns Lake, which is in the heart of northern British Columbia, about 222 kms. west of Prince George, B.C. on Highway 16. The region offers world class fishing, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, snowmobiling, camping near the many lakes and exploring the endless outdoors. The Region has a background in forestry, mining, farming, and ranching.

The RDBN is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and strategically minded professional to fill the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The CFO is responsible for the statutory duties of the Financial Officer under the Local Government Act. Reporting to the CAO, the CFO is responsible for the overall financial administration of the RDBN and will provide leadership in areas of budget, financial planning, financial reporting, financial policies, debt and investment management, risk management, information technology, related bylaws and asset management.
The ideal candidate will have a recognized finance designation (CPA). A degree in Business or Finance is preferable with at least 7 years of local government or related accounting/financial and management experience. Also, superior financial analysis, strategic planning, fiscal and project management skills. This high profile position requires a professional that has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
